How to fix common intermittent network connection problems with Outlook 2010

1. In Microsoft Outlook 2010, go to "File" (top left) and select "Info"

2. Click "Account Settings" and select "Account Settings" from the drop down menu


3. Highlight your account (email address) and select "Change"

4. Select "More Settings" (bottom right)

5. Select the "Connection" tab (top right)

6. Select "Exchange Proxy Settings"


7. Ensure that the "On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" option is enabled


8. Press "OK" and "Apply" which will notify you that you must restart Outlook for these changes to take effect.

9. Next time you restart Outlook 2010 you problem should have been solved.
