As a Virtual Machine (VM) is operationally the same as a physical server, almost all application software will install on a VM. Standard resource rules will apply with CPU, memory and diskspace still being limiting factors.
As a VM does not have PCI slots or USB ports it is not possible to run applications that interface with third party adapter cards or USB devices.
In addition, the following content is prohibited on a VM:
- Unlicensed or pirated software for use or distribution
- Software for the purpose of downloading or obtaining pirated software, music files or video files
- Distribution of music files or any other material in which the user does not own the copyright
- Any other material deemed illegal by New Zealand law.
