Password Regenerated during vGRID Exchange Mail Preparation

Jonathan Haussmann -

During the vGRID Exchange Mail Preparation, some passwords may not meet the new minimum password requirements.

In these instances, a new random password will be generated and applied to the vGRID Exchange Mail mailbox.  This is to ensure security of the mailbox until you (or your IT administrator) are able to apply a new password once the preparation wizard has been completed

To change a mailbox password:

  1. Log into the vGRID portal - if you do not have access, you will need to contact your IT administrator to perform these actions
  2. Click on vGRID Exchange Mail
  3. Locate the required mailbox and press the edit button
  4. Capture.JPG
  5. Select the 'Password' tab
  6. Enter your 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password' and then press the 'Update Password' button
  7. Capture2.JPG

The minimum requirements for passwords

  • Minimum length of the password is 6 characters
  • Maximum length of the password is 24 characters
  • Your password must contain at least one uppercase letter
  • Your password must contain at least one number

 Additional complexity required:

  • Your password may not contain your user name
  • You cannot change your password to be the same as one of your previous four passwords.
