HomeDrive Log Files

Matt Brindley -

In order to better diagnose any issues your HomeDrive may encounter, our support team will occasionally need the log files located on your machine. Below is where you can find the log files on your machine:

Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or Windows 10

  1. Open the HomeDrive Dashboard
  2. Click the "Help" Menu item, and click "About HomeDrive".
  3. Click the "Export log files" button. This should put the log files into a .zip file on your desktop.
  4. Finally, forward the zipped log files to us as an attachment to support@vgrid.nz

Alternatively, you can navigate to the folder on your machine:

  1. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\HomeDrive\
  2. ZIP the folder named "Logs" and send as attachments to support@vgrid.nz
Or you can access the folder directly by entering the following into the address bar in Windows Explorer
%localappdata%\HomeDrive\

Note: If you cannot see the App Data or Local Settings folder then you need to enable it in your folder settings. To do so, follow these instructions:
  1. Press the start button and search for "Folder Options"
  2. Check the "Show Files and Folders" checkbox

Mac OSx

  1. Open the HomeDrive Dashboard
  2. Click the "HomeDrive" Menu item, and click "About".
  3. Click the "Export log files" button. This should put the log files into a .zip file on your desktop.
  4. Finally, forward the zipped log files to us as an attachment to support@vgrid.nz
